A Historic Restoration

Printer's Building

Arboritec's field technical and training representative Mark Mukosiej recently met up with Tom Bridge of Bridge Wood Floors at his job site in the Printers Building in Worcester, MA. Bridge Wood Floors of Douglas, MA sources product and expertise from distributor Brian Salatiello over at Wood Pro, Inc in Auburn, MA.  When Arboritec arrived, Tom and his son Jeremy were actively working on the 2nd and 7th floor hallways in this grand, 7-story building that used to house a printing company.  Gilbert G. Davis, Commonwealth Press and J. S. Wesby had constructed the Printers Building in 1923 to meet the printing needs of the surrounding area.

When Mark arrived, the second floor was done and it was beautiful. Tom and Jeremy had sanded the 90-year-old maple floors down and put down an amberized shellac as the base coat. They followed it with two coats of Arboritec's Avenue 20 ceramic-fortified waterborne finish on top.

Tom showed us the 7th floor where the first coat of Avenue 20 was applied and it looked fantastic. Tom and Jeremy love Arboritec products and continue to use them as their water based choice wood floor finishing products. Check out how they brought these old floors back to life!
